Job Description
A healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Patient Care Services department. This role will involve providing quality care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider, performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Friday: 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Hours: 45-minute lunch break required
- Interviews: Open to virtual or in-person, with emphasis on punctuality
- Setting: Primarily a clinic-based environment, handling physicals, immunizations, and daily medication management
Responsibilities: The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for:
- Conducting patient interviews and intake
- Preparing patients for triage and reporting vital sign abnormalities
- Collecting specimens and performing diagnostic testing
- Documenting care and communication in the EMR
- Administering immunizations and medications safely
- Participating in patient and family education, documenting their responses
- Managing insurance pre-approvals and medication refills
- Responding to emergency situations, maintaining BLS certification
- Ensuring patient care equipment is functional and reporting issues
- Upholding professional communication and patient safety standards
- Performing additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting
- Current BLS certification
- Strong adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic healthcare environment
- Proficient in patient assessment and care planning
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Team-oriented with a commitment to quality patient care
