Licensed Veterinary Technician Wanted - Full Time We are currently seeking team oriented, highly motivated, and compassionate applicants for the position of Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). We are an AAHA certified, 4 doctor, small animal and exotic animal practice in the beautiful Hudson Valley of NY that is dedicated to excellent patient care, outstanding customer service and client education. Responsibilities for the LVT position include: all aspects of patient care, treatment and hospitalization, inducing and monitoring for anesthesia and surgery; radiographs, dental prophies, monitoring and discharging hospitalized pets, preparing prescriptions and lab work; performing IV catheter placement, venipuncture, routine in-house lab work; animal restraint and handling; cleaning; and having a primary focus on communicating with clients on medications and education. Additional duties may also include: answering telephones, computer data entry, invoicing clients and collecting fees, cleaning, filing, faxing, mailing to clients, preparing patient consent forms and estimates, providing client education materials and making sure the client receives any medications or products they need that day. This position requires good computer skills and excellent customer service skills and a pleasant personality for answering phones, greeting pets and educating clients. Prior knowledge of veterinary practice is a helpful as it is needed to answer client questions and to perform other related duties directed by the veterinarian. Additionally, respect and courtesy toward clients and co-workers is essential.
