Licensed Veterinary TechnicianThe Village Animal ClinicVoorheesville, New York(located outside of Albany)Salary $21-$30 (based on experience)The Village Animal Clinic located outside of Albany is actively looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technicain. Our LVTswork closely with our 6 veterinarians, assisting with their appointments, surgeries, and record-keeping. We were voted #1 Veterinary practice in the Times Union's Best of for six years. Our AAHA-certified practice includes equipment such as direct digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, computer-integrated Abaxis laboratory equipment including digital AI cytology, dentalaire dental equipment, therapeutic laser, digital endoscopy, and complete digital medical records. We have an on-site grooming area and serve as a host to two rotating specialists in radiology and surgery, which our LVT's have the opportunity to assist. LVT responsibilities also include:- scheduling and maintaining their own technician appointments
- collecting and preparing laboratory samples
- perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
- Surgical inducing, monitoring, and recovering surgical patients
- prepping and assisting with surgical procedures
- processing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical equipment
- updating and maintaining computerized records
- dispensing and administering medications and vaccines
- educating pet owners on health care for their pets both in-person and on the phone
- handling and treating exotic patients
Shifts: - 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
