- As an LVN/LPN on the Medical Surgical unit, you will provide essential nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, applying your nursing skills and knowledge to manage patient care and provide support through the nursing process. You will use the EPIC EMR system to document care and ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine assessments, administer medications, take vital signs, and provide direct care to Med Surg patients.
- Assist RNs with patient monitoring, documentation, and basic procedures, ensuring a cohesive team approach.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans and provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the EPIC system.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Support the unit by being a proactive and confident nurse, able to quickly adapt to the demands of a busy environment.
Requirements:Experience:
- 2+ years of current Med Surg experience in a hospital setting - Required.
- Hospital experience is strongly encouraged.
- Travel experience is strongly encouraged.
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA or ARC) - Required.
- EMR: Experience with EPIC is essential.
