Summary
The Licensing Coordinator is responsible for all administrative duties related to specific categories of licensure including license endorsements, license renewals, and license examinations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Functions
Processes examination and licensure applications and correspondence from applicants, schools, and employers; answers telephone inquiries related to examinations and/or licensure. Maintains computerized database records related to membership, applicants, continuing education, examinations, licensure, discipline, and license revocation. Conducts research and assists in preparing investigative reports, letters of reprimand, and letters of warning. Responds to written inquiries through correspondence and/or email; provides information regarding license status. Attends, records, transcribes, and maintains minutes of committee meetings. Verifies licensure for other state agencies ( e.g., Dept. of Justice, DEA) as needed. Creates, updates, and maintains educational brochures and other licensure materials. Assists in collecting statistical data for department performance metrics. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures. Knowledge of computerized information systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to respond to both internal and external requests for information and documentation. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department staff and/or outside individuals and organizations. Ability to maintain and update databases. Ability to prepare correspondence and reports. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus four years of experience in administrative office support, licensing activities or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
