ACTIVITIESDIRECTOR/LIFE ENHANCEMENT COORDINATOR/EVENT PLANNER Weare looking for the right person to create and implement an engaging programfor our residents. We specialize inassisted living and memory care. Highgate Senior Living's mission is to devoteourselves to help each resident live a life of purpose and each of us plays acrucial role in doing so. We operate communities in the western US and are seekingthe right Life Enhancement Coordinator to join our team. Help us create an environment that promotes asense of well-being and the feeling of true community in a gracious, homelikesetting. This position is full-time and includescoordination/planning of both small and large group activities, events, andopportunities for our residents to learn new things. In this role, you will lead the team inproviding a program that includes the pursuit of creative interests like theArts and music, provides opportunities for socialization, promotes a wellnessprogram that includes physical exercise and mindfulness, provides outlets forspiritual fulfillment, creates environments for residents to focus oncontinuous learning, cognition stimulation and family/friends engagement. Living with purpose is the fundamentalprinciple our program is founded upon, as all of us want to feel needed anduseful. Executing this mission drivenrole helps our residents maintain that sense of purpose, feel valued andnecessary in the world. The successful candidate will be an organized and detail-orientedindividual with a positive and self-motivated attitude. You must have strong communicationand computer skills. Excellent time management skills are important along withrelationship building, persistence, flexibility, and adaptability. You must want to have fun and spend timeinteracting with others to be successful in this role. SKILLS NEEDED:
  • Strong organizational and leadershipskills
  • Ability to design and execute an appealingprogram for seniors at varying cognitive and physical ability levels
  • Innovative thinking necessary todevelop a program that includes opportunities for our residents to continuouslylearn new things
  • An understanding of how to build aprogram that encompasses physical exercise, spirituality, social engagement,creative outlets, intellectual stimulation, and opportunities for residents togive back to others
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills and strong persuasion skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite andability to learn new software
  • Team player with ability to developstrong working relationships along with customer service focus
  • Ability to adapt/respond quickly tochanging requirements and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines
  • An understanding or the willingness togain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how to helpresidents with dementia still live with purpose
  • Leadership skills to build, motivate, oversee,and guide a team that functions well
  • Comfortability with marketing yourvolunteer opportunities to help support the overall program
  • Business acumen to assumeresponsibility for the budgets, both labor and supplies
RELATABLE EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in coordinating group activities and/or structured opportunities that encourage people to come together
  • Jobs that have included event planning, marketing, or recreational therapy
  • Leadership roles in which you havebeen a multi-tasker, balancing customer service with objective project goals
  • Experience with facilitating groupsand understanding group dynamics
  • Jobs you have had working withseniors or other vulnerable populations
  • Experience in Assisted Living / Healthcare therapeutic recreation inprior roles
QUALIFICATIONS: 1- At least 21 years of age 2- At least 2 years in customer service,event planning, groups is required 3- Current negative TB test 4- Ability to pass criminalrecord/background check 5- Valid driver's license with aqualifying driver abstract 6- Good time management skills 7- Must be able to work wellindependently with little oversight 8- Must have a track record of top-notchorganizational abilities and leadership skills 9- A desire to have fun, interact withothers with high frequency and be comfortable leading groups As an organization we offer our team members agood benefits package, the ability to be heard, have their opinions count andthe opportunity to innovate. Ourcompensation package will be flexible for this role based on the credentialing,tenure and skill sets each candidate brings for consideration. The starting hourly wage range for thisposition is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Priorexperience in seniors housing programming is preferred.
