POSITION SUMMARY:

The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality of services by providing leadership with planning, organizing, and implementing life-enhancing opportunities and experiences for residents. The Life Enrichment Coordinator collaborates with program leadership and development offices to create well-rounded and person-centered programming and inspire participation. In addition, The Life Enrichment Coordinator provides leadership to house staff on weekends by participating in the on-call supervisor rotation and will provide direct care as needed. The Life Enrichment Coordinator is an hourly full-time benefited position supervised by the Chief Program Officer

COMPENSATION:

This is an hourly paid position beginning at $19.00 per hour and is determined based on years of relevant experience. There is a $1.00 additional weekend shift differential when performing direct support and additional compensation for on-call responsibilities. A lucrative vacation and sick time package, along with employee benefits are available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ At least 21 years of age

¨ Degree in a related field or 2 years of experience with adults who have intellectual disabilities

¨ A good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office required

¨ Must be able to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivated

¨ Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required

¨ Good communication (written and verbal) skills

¨ Good organizational skills and adherence to deadlines

¨ Demonstration of understanding and commitment to the philosophical tenets of community-based services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide central leadership to planning events and outings by collaborating with the Program Manager, House Manager, and the Development team to

o Develop a monthly activities calendar

o Develop annual life enrichment plan and assist with budgeting

o Work with House Managers and Lead DSPs to assess resident interest

o Promote cross-household experiences

o Promote community involvement

· Act as Program liaison to Arts + Wellness program

· Provide leadership at resident activities and events, modeling best practices and ensuring resident safety and enjoyment.

· Collaborate with the Service and Maintenance team to ensure the Condition of Vehicles by performing a Weekly Vehicle Condition check for gas, cleanliness, trash, doors/windows fully closed, lights turned off.

· Provide Leadership to DSPs on weekends (alternating with other PA)

o Rounds at every house to assess for need/opportunity

o Give direction/suggestions to staff

o Promote outings and activities

o Ensuring that the weekly schedule is posted in each home

o Answer Helpline calls on assigned weekend from 10pm Friday until 8am Monday

¨ Assist with ensuring effective communication between the houses and the office, including but not limited to:

o Monitoring that accurate, up-to-date staffing schedules are posted in each location

o Participation in assigned email groups (house medical appointments, Helpline, etc.)

o Maintenance and use of shared documents (schedules, Site Visits, etc.)

o Knowledge and use of comprehensive communication tools (e.g., house communication logs, email, meetings, etc.)

¨ Monitor that participant POCs', BSPs', and medical protocols are fully implemented and present in the agency file

¨ Provide direct support scheduled and cover shifts as needed

¨ Participate in assigned workgroups (e.g., Program Team, House Manager meetings)

¨ Participate in weekend on call rotation, providing on-call supervision to the staff in the homes when their supervisor is not available

¨ Complete Incident Reports as required

¨ Assist with emergency preparedness drills

¨ Assist with grocery shopping duties

¨ Assist with staff development and training

¨ Assist with medical appointments, POC, SIS, and other meetings, as needed

¨ Support House Manager and Compliance staff by monitoring appointment schedules to ensure transportation and communication with day program/work place

¨ Submit work orders for maintenance issues

¨ Ensure that houses have all needed supplies and resources

¨ Ensure that all SCL compliance requirements are being followed

¨ Report concerns to appropriate House Manager and/or Program Manager

¨ Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE Life Enrichment Coordinator:

1. Be healthy and physically fit including the physical requirements of lifting individuals, standing for long periods, crouching, twisting/turning, weight bearing, walking and other physical activities as required.

2. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

3. Exhibit abilities to see, hear and communicate with individuals under their care.

4. Must possess a valid driver's license to operate and drive a vehicle.

WORK ENVIROMENT FOR THE Life Enrichment Coordinator:

Work is normally performed in an office or residential facility.

While performing the responsibilities of the Life Enrichment Coordinator's Job, these working environment characteristics are representative of the environment the Life Enrichment Coordinator will encounter:

¨ The employee is normally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles; the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the Life Enrichment Coordinator's job. Typical work duties can vary depending upon different scenarios, however in most cases, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will be responsible for the daily care of the participants. This can include administering medication, updating records, providing emotional support, and resident education.

¨ It may require longer work days and varied schedules, or have on call duty. They may have to work nights, weekends or even over the holidays.

¨ Additionally, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will need to protect themselves from possible work-related hazards, during the course of resident care, since they may be exposed to infectious diseases, body fluids, radiation, chemicals, etc.
