Job Description:
Shift: Varied first and secondWage: 15.00/HrLifeguards have a keen eye for safety, excellent swimming skills, and a commitment to providing a positive and secure aquatic environment. They are responsible for the safety and well-being of all pool patrons and initiating emergency procedures when required. They also ensure that pool patrons follow all pool rules and policies and assist in developing and implementing aquatic programs (ex. swim lessons).Job Analysis:* Surveillance: Constantly monitor pool activities to prevent accidents and injuries. Be vigilant and proactive in identifying potential hazards.* Rescue Operations: Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations. Perform water rescues, administer first aid, and provide CPR as needed.* Safety Enforcement: Enforce all pool rules and regulations. Educate patrons on safe swimming practices and address any unsafe behavior promptly.* First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid to injured or distressed swimmers. Communicate with emergency services if necessary.* Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the pool area. Sets out and returns equipment at the beginning and end of shifts. Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment and report any maintenance issues to the Pool Manager.* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of incidents, rescues, and treatments provided. Document pool attendance and chemical levels as required.* Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with questions, concerns, and needs. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all pool users.* Training and Drills: Participate in regular training sessions and emergency drills to stay prepared for any situation.* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other lifeguards and other staff to ensure a cohesive and efficient team environment.* Program Instruction, Assistance, and Development: Teaches group and individual swim lessons, as needed. Participates in program development and implementation. Assist with other events and programs held at the fitness centers (ex. kids camp, holiday events).* Must follow all Lands' End's safe work practices, escalate unsafe conditions and report incidents.* All other duties as assigned.Required Skills:* Good oral communication skills, and able to provide assistance information, instruction and guidance to pool users.* Personable and friendly disposition.* Assertive, yet polite in enforcing safety rules.* Creative, resourceful, and able to generate ideas.* Ability to assess participant and program needs through observation and interaction.
