Job Description

Job Responsibilities :

The Account Director will focus on developing new projects with existing and new customers and driving current sales and business growth with existing customers in the region. The Account Director can also act as a direct salesperson in agreed accounts that he previously has contacts. The person in this position supports sales productivity by providing assistance in project evaluation, and customer presentation with or without the account director. The person also provides technical input into our Machine Vision and Serialization sales quotations to ensure projects are costed accurately and timely while meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities include :

  • Assist the business unit in the pre-sales activities to include site surveys and costing/quote preparation.
  • Have a complete understanding of the requirements, customer documentation, including annotating and feeding back on customer URS, and technical solution.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology/products.
  • Liaise with the Sales team to ensure that all information to accurately assess the requirements to prepare and cost a complete quotation are in place.
  • The role requires contact with Customers, including attendance to site meetings and survey packaging lines to assist in providing a technical solution.
  • The applicant will be determined and methodical in pursuit of the agreed objectives. The ability to prioritize and to meet agreed time frame dates with our customers and to manage time efficiently will be critical to success in this role.
  • In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will follow agreed procedures, management systems such as CRM/ Sharepoint and SOP's as required.
  • Update CRM with information required as part of the role (upload of documentation).
  • Possibly, during quiet periods support PMs with UKI projects.
  • Required to travel in the UK and Ireland and rare but occasional travel abroad.
  • Deliver CIC demos to customer.
  • Ensure sales and development objectives are met, forecasted aligned with objectives.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for accounts and development of new opportunities where the person would have previous contacts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers through proactive communication and regular visits to discuss projects or commercial opportunities.
  • Plan and execute regular visits with current and potential customers and effectively identify and manage accordingly customer needs and demands.
  • Maintain and continuously improve knowledge about products, applications and markets in the industry.
  • Follow the Group sales and marketing processes and practices to drive sales and development in the segment.
  • Evaluate and propose innovative solutions for customer problems and coordinate with internal resources when needed to meet customer requests/demands and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other internal departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

    Requirements

    Experience and skills :

  • 7 years of sales experience in machine vision and preferably in Life Science.
  • Experience managing sales and development.
  • Ability to educate customers/colleagues both on the technical and commercial side, and communicate/present well in a succinct and compelling way.
  • Excellent initiative, autonomy and enthusiasm.
  • Experience and ability to work in a global matrix.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% to 50%, including some international travel.
