Each of the three locations-Greenville, Washington and Ahoskie-offer a broad range of exercise, aquatic and wellness services for all ages and fitness levels, including personal training, group fitness classes, Exercise is Medicine programs, massage therapy, nutrition counseling and more.Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.Position SummaryLifeguards are responsible for the overall safety and well being of all patrons who use the aquatics facility as it relates to preventing emergency situations, responding to emergency situations appropriately, and maintaining aspects of daily pool operations.As a Lifeguard, you will:* Maintain a high level of professionalism and participate in ongoing skill development, such as team member meetings and departmental in-service trainings* Possess a thorough understanding of aquatic facility safety protocols that include but not limited to, emergency action plans, effective patron surveillance, enforcing safety rules with patrons and life saving skills* Assist with task oriented responsibilties such as but not limited to daily cleaning of aquatic area, group instructor assistance, chemical and temperature readings, lap lane management for patrons, swim lesson registration and attendance recording to programs and services* If applicable, team member is a swim instructor and adheres to the following: Ability to perform safe swim instruction, teach water safety techniques, motivate and encourage patrons regardless their variety of skill and age, private or group settings and maintain a safe environment each sessionMinimum Requirements* Basic Skill Set or higher* Lifeguard certification* Zero to two years related experience* Nationally Recognized CPR CertificationOther Information* This is a PRN, As Needed position* Primarily Evenings (1 to 6 hour shifts)* Will be required to work other shifts, as needed* Required to work rotational weekendsGeneral StatementIt is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.Offers of employment are subject to successful completion of all pre-employment screenings, which may include an occupational health screening, criminal record check, education, reference, and licensure verification.We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
