Job Title: Lift Maintenance Manager - Year Round, Full-Time Type of Position: Year Round, Full-Time Schedule: Five days/week, includes weekends/holidays (during Winter Season). Four ten-hour days per week, generally Mon-Thurs (during Summer).Pay: $85,000 - 98,000 annualized, based on skills and experience - plus annual bonus potentialAre you a Lift Maintenance professional looking to continue your leadership career at one of the few remaining Family-owned ski areas? Summary Responsible for the safe and efficient aerial and surface lift transport of passengers at Loveland Ski Areas. Oversee the management and administration of the lift maintenance department to provide a positive guest and employee experience. Responsible for all Lift Maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance; emergency repairs; scheduling of inspections (gear box, etc.); compliance with regulatory standards and requirements; and coordination of lift removals and new lift installations. Responsible for leading an effective and high performing lift maintenance team, aligning department goals with Loveland's overall goals. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities. Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the hiring and supervision of all lift maintenance team members, including, ensuring team members are trained in how to perform their tasks safely and effectively, performance management, policy/procedure compliance, and reviewing and approving time and attendance. Facilitate career progression for team members through mechanic levels, providing training and development opportunities for continuous development.
  • Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on lift equipment. Develop and implement lift maintenance inspection documents and annual maintenance inspections/schedules. Oversee and assist with troubleshooting all lift systems when issues arise. Proactively develop routines and procedures for preventative maintenance, oversee and assist with maintenance work, and ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and completed timely.
  • Assure that all required records are maintained and kept up-to-date including all mechanical and operational procedures, daily maintenance, operational logs, lift failures and incidents, downtime logs.
  • Maintain work in compliance with company policy and procedures; CPTSB, ANSI, US Forest Service, and OSHA regulations; and insurance underwriters' rules and regulations. Ensure development of job hazard assessments, training procedures, etc., ensuring safety is at the forefront. Regularly document and continuously update lift maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Manage and monitor department budget, communicating variances as needed.
  • Oversee all lift maintenance parts ordering - maintain parts inventory system.
  • Manage various projects as assigned by SVP/COO related to lifts, including participating in the assessment of long-term lift needs.
  • Operate snowmobile and other company vehicles safely, following LSA protocol and ensuring proper condition of vehicles at all times. Perform snow removal and other snow work around lifts, as needed.
  • May assist in other operational departments as needed (i.e., lift operations, parking, etc.)
RequirementsRequirements/Qualifications
  • Minimum five years' experience working in ski lift maintenance and repair, including work on fixed grip, high speed detachable and surface lifts
  • Working knowledge of lift operations
  • Experience and familiarity with lift installations
  • Minimum two years supervising others
  • Possession of (or ability to obtain) a valid Colorado Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain climbing certification
  • Strong communication and time management skills with independent decision-making ability.
  • Ability to plan, organize work and execute the plan on a consistent schedule
  • Ability to balance and manage competing priorities, scheduling and motivating a team to accomplish all priorities
  • Ability to handle fast paced, potentially high-pressure work environment.
  • Ability to lead a team toward set goals, motivate individual performance, and hold team members accountable to ensure team success.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel), experience using Access desirable
  • Ability to use a computer to look up procedures, check lift related programming, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (speak and understand) in English - verbal and written communications.
  • Intermediate level or better ski or snowboard ability, expert level preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate snowmobiles and other company vehicles
  • Working knowledge of CPTSB and ANSI codes pertaining to ski lifts, familiarity with general industry OSHA regulations
  • General knowledge in electrical concepts
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull greater than 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work at high altitudes, on high structures, outdoors and in extreme weather conditions in all seasons.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, early morning shifts and late shifts in extreme circumstances during the Winter Season.
