We're looking for Street Lighting / Power Engineering Cable Jointer Apprentices to join our Lighting & Grid team as part of our UK Energy Infrastructure Solutions business.Lighting & Grid Apprentice - NorthamptonHere's what you'll be doingRole: Apprentice - Street Lighting Installation, Maintenance and Cable JointingLocation: Northampton - Hatton Cose, Moulton Park Industrial Estate, Northampton, NN3 6SUAt E.ON, we're at the forefront of energy innovation, delivering sustainable solutions across various industries. Joining us as a Lighting & Grid Apprentice, you'll be part of a dynamic team contributing to our drive for efficiency and sustainability.This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning qualifications over a four-year period:Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering - Distribution & Transmission Power Distribution Engineering Cable Jointing qualifications.You'll spend most of your time out and about from your local depot, learning about all technical aspects of Lighting & Grid. You will also attend block release training programs to gain your formal qualifications including courses to provide trade skills such as plant operation and live electrical connections to the underground power distribution network. Learning from experienced professionals and mentors you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the power engineering industry as a whole and valuable experience with a major energy solutions company.This role is hands-on, so you'll need to be ready to work in site-based environments including public highway and construction sites.What we need from youA minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language and Science.A real interest in engineering shown by your relevant work placements, studies, hobbies or projects.A passion for safety and PPE requirements.Team-oriented with the confidence to work independently when required.Here's what you need to knowOur market-leading benefits package includes 26 days holiday + bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, life cover, bonus and the chance to choose from 20 flexible benefits with tax and/or NI savings.
