Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and analytical LIMS/ELN Application Specialist who will serve as a Labware & Database Architect for our laboratory. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) applications to meet the needs of our laboratory operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to understand their requirements and workflows in order to design and implement customized LIMS and ELN solutions.
  • Configure and customize LIMS and ELN applications to optimize data management, workflow automation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain data models, database schemas, and data migration scripts to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LIMS and ELN applications, including system performance, data quality, and user access.
  • Provide training and support to laboratory staff on LIMS and ELN functionality, best practices, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in LIMS/ELN software and database technology.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining LIMS and ELN applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java.
  • Strong database management skills, including experience with SQL databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with LabWare LIMS and/or other LIMS/ELN software platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
