Highly skilled line cook positions must have leadership abilities to lead other cooks and run the entire cook line and to earn the maximum pay rate. This position also prepares food when needed for the business day which may include cutting, portioning, and packaging. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and meet all physical requirements of the position. They must understand the job duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, working in close quarters, working in extreme heat and cold as they transition from the walk-in to the cook line, taking trash, and other cleaning work that will require them to lift up to 30 pounds.Cooks work extensively with mechanized cutting, slicing and mixing equipment and hot cooking appliance such as ovens, ranges and steamers. This position may work in hot, close quarters for extended periods, with occasional entrance to refrigerated storage areas. This position requires employees to lift up to 30 pounds with frequent bending, stooping and twisting. He/She works the entire shift on their feet so the ability to stand 100% during the entire shift is required.
