At Mamouns we are looking for Line Cooks that will support our Paramus location. Candidates should have some experience in a fast-casual environment and a working knowledge of KDS systems. If you enjoy eating, cooking, and working in the hospitality industry and have a positive attitude you may be a good fit for our team.
Essential Functions of the Job
The ability to speak, see, hear, read, and write
Mobility and manual dexterity
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds on a semi-regular basis and perform other diverse physical tasks as needed
The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
The ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking up to 8-10 hours a day
Exposure to wet floors, noise, and temperature extremes
The ability to work at least 30 hours a week or more as needed
Overall Responsibilities
Providing exceptional service to guests
Positive attitude that transmits the values of our business
Thorough knowledge of all menu items
Thorough knowledge and proficiency of Kitchen Display Screen (KDS) system
Adherence to company, state, and county health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out policies
Attendance to meetings and training as required
Maintains a neat, clean, and tidy appearance, following Mamouns uniform and dress code requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen & workstation(s)
Preparing all menu items in strict accordance with recipe and food preparation methods and standards
Practices portion control and minimizes waste
Responsible for understanding each cooking line station (falafel, grill, shawarma, French fries)
Ensures that all food products have been prepared correctly before cooking and are cooked to perfection
Assists other line cooks in their respective stations when necessary
Works under the direction of general manger and/or kitchen supervisor in order to ensure that all orders are prepared in a smooth and expeditious manner
Responsible for communicating effectively with prep cooks, line cooks, managers, and FOH team members
Ensures accuracy and timing of all orders and that they are complete with garnish and sides
Assists dishwasher with dishwashing and food preparation tasks when necessary
Assists prep cooks with food preparing tasks when necessary
Assists in the receiving and organization of food delivery shipments
Follows proper food handling techniques
Responsible for completing tasks on opening and closing checklists
Carries out all other duties as assigned by management
Completes shift work, as assigned, timely and thoroughly in accordance with company standards
