As a line/prep cook, you will ensure all food is prepared and cooked to order and meets quality and presentation standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble ingredients according to recipes and specifications. This includes chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and preparing sauces and dressings.
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the assigned station.
- Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, including grilling, sauting, frying, and baking, to prepare dishes efficiently.
- Manage ingredients, including proper storage and handling, to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Follow portion control guidelines.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes. Address and correct any issues promptly.
- Assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed. Report any shortages or equipment issues to the kitchen manager.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation. Communicate effectively with the team to manage orders and address any concerns.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices and hygiene standards. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.

Requirements
- Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in English or Spanish
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity for use of cutting tools and kitchen utensils for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other tasks.
- Frequent exposure to varying temperatures (cooler/freezer and kitchen area).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line/prep cook or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
