In this role, you'll play a vital part in building and maintaining our electrical distribution system, ensuring safe and reliable electric service for our members. Be part of a team that keeps our community connected!A day in the life•Work on overhead and underground lines to keep the electrical system running smoothly.•Use staking sheets to understand and carry out tasks.•Move, set up, and look after important equipment like poles, transformers, and meters to keep the system reliable.•Focus on installing streetlights and other special lights to make the community safer.•Quickly respond to trouble calls, fixing problems to restore service fast.Requirements•High school diploma and at least 4 years of electrical line experience OR a diploma in Electrical Line Worker Technology; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.•Journeyman-level Lineman Certification (if applying as a Journeyman Line Technician)•Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, valid for interstate commerce•DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate•CPR CertificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities•Understand construction and maintenance of power lines to properly build and maintain the electrical distribution line.•Adhere to Rural Utilities Service, National Electrical Safety Code, and the cooperative's policies and procedures.•Understand hot line work to perform work safely.•Communicate effectively to conduct business with employees and members.•Possess a high level of integrity; respect and maintain confidentiality.•Organize time efficiently to complete responsibilities.•Perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.•Operate and handle different types of equipment safely.•Can exert up to 100lbs. of force.•Work in various conditions (temperature, noise, etc.)What's in it for you?•Be part of a culture that values innovation, empowered decision-making, and accountability.•Enjoy 100% employer-paid medical insurance and up to a 10% employer contribution to your 401(k).•Take advantage of great perks like paid time off, education assistance, and more.•Join a cooperative that cares deeply about the communities we live in and serve.The pay rate for a fully qualified Journeyman Lineman in this position is $53.36.
