Job Description Our Linen Clerk Performs a variety of tasks related to distribution and pick-up of hospital linen and other supplies as needed. The position is required to distribute clean linen and/or supplies as needed to all hospital departments and also be responsible for the pick up and staging of soiled linen. Responsible for other Materials Management delivery tasks required. Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions and perform simple arithmetic calculations. **This is a Full Time Position 37.50 hrs. per week**ResponsibilitiesMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Delivers all linen trucks to specified areas every morning as scheduled and any additional linen as requested by unit staff during shift.
  • Picks up all soiled linen from the linen chutes as scheduled.
  • Keeps linen clean and organized in accordance with established procedures.
  • Must be able to operate all Storeroom equipment safely and correctly.
  • Fill stock requisitions by end of shift; follow through on filling backorders as soon as the supplies are delivered to the Storeroom from the vendor.
  • Deliver all Storeroom orders, non-stock orders, and backorders to the requesting departments by end of shift. A signature is required when making any delivery to a department within the SHS.
  • Able to use the computer to access the system for requisitioning, receiving, par leveling and
  • inventory control.
  • Respond to pager dealing with any emergency linen or supply request.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to transport linen carts weighing up to 500 lbs. Will be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
