Performs a wide range of activities associated with the distribution and recovery of hospital linens. Unloads linen trucks, weighs clean and soiled linen coming in and out of the facility, stocks linen exchange carts, distributes linen and associated materials to departments, and recovers soiled linen from units for transportation back to the linen plant.

Responsibilities

Receives bulk linen deliveries from the linen plant.

Acknowledge receipt of delivery from the driver.

Stocks linen exchange carts.

Counts existing linen par levels on exchange carts.

Exchanges linen exchange carts or baskets.

Delivers exchange carts or baskets to appropriate patient care units.

Recovers soiled linen.

Visits every patient room and unit to recover soiled linen bags.

Miscellaneous Tasks.

Responds to requests for extra or additional linen and associated materials deliveries to patient care units.

Maintains the YNHHS standards of professional behavior.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE

1-2 years of linen operations experience preferred.
