JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Under supervision of the Electric Shop Supervisor, inspects, installs, services, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies all exterior high voltage overhead and underground lines, equipment, and systems.
  • Works on energized electrical circuits up to 20 kV, using special hot line tools and equipment.
  • Carries on-call pager on a rotation basis for emergency calls after hours.
  • Provides manpower for special functions such as graduation and other special events.
  • Repairs all outside security and street lighting in assigned area.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and four years of high voltage experience, including a lineworker apprenticeship program.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Positions in this classification will require CPR certification upon employment.
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
