The Liquid Research & Development (R&D) Intern will support liquid product and process development related activities including research, experimental testing, data analysis for process efficiency, value engineering, sensory, and other R&D initiatives and programs. The focus will be on brands bottled on site in KY but may also include imported brands and regional production sites in Jamaica, Mexico, and Canada. Mission/Objectives

  • To support in R&D initiatives that enhance efficiency, cost savings, value engineering, business continuity, and innovation.
  • To learn as well as disseminate findings and knowledge within the company.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
  • Support in the ideation, research, experimental design, and experimental trials to solve technical and/or business challenges.
  • Support in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Help define next steps and possible applications.
  • Conduct lab testing and support in the maintenance and calibration of the equipment.
  • Support in the lab maintenance and shipment of prototypes and/or samples.
  • Support in writing of reports, presentations, manufacturing instructions and/or procedures/guidelines.
  • Support raw material and finished liquid data setup within a global centralized system.
  • Support in other R&D initiatives as defined with supervisor.
  • Lead specific R&D projects as defined with supervisor.

Experience (Seeking)
  • Laboratory experience is preferred.
  • R&D experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.
  • Previous Sensory experience is a plus.
Education / Professional Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or other relevant program.
