Required Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Required within one year of hire- enrollment in a Master's degree in Library Science program through a Texas accredited university with a deficiency plan OR if you already have a Master's degree, enrolled in School Library Certification program, 24 hours at a Texas accredited university.
Valid Texas teacher certification.
Required within 3 years of entering into this position, candidate must pass the School Librarian's TExES (Texas Examination of Educator Standards) after completing Master's in Library Science degree or School Library certificate requirements.
Required 2+ years classroom teaching experience from a public school or a TEA-accredited campus institution (core content preferred).
Preferred experience working with technologies and integrating technology into instruction.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional media setting.
Demonstrated experience of legal and ethical trends in literacy & technology (copyright & digital citizenship).
Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies.
Strong background in working with diverse student populations.
Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
