Lithography Process EngineerDepartment: ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Cazenovia, New YorkReporting To: Manufacturing Engineering ManagerCompensation: $50,000 - $80,000 / yearDescriptionThe Lithography Process Engineer with Knowles Precision Devices in Cazenovia works on a team to support the manufacture of thin film devices and single layer capacitors. The primary responsibility of the Lithography Process Engineer is to sustain and improve manufacturing processes and drive engineering issues to resolution for photolithography and wet processes. This position reports to the Process Engineering Manager. While this position does not have any direct reports they will cross-functionally interact with a large internal customer base which includes production operators, technicians, quality engineers, and other process engineers.Key Responsibilities
  • Process engineering support for photolithography and etch processes to pattern various materials on ceramic surfaces
  • Implement process improvements for increased yield, reduced cycle time, and process repeatability
  • Establish and support statistical process control (SPC) for the lithography and etch processes
  • Develop and implement permanent corrective actions to improve quality and resolve customer concerns
  • Train technicians and operators on lithography and etch processes
  • Maintain process and training documentation
  • Optimally design and layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency
  • Work with vendors to determine and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science and Engineering, or similar discipline, required
  • 0-5 years of applicable experience in wet etch, dry etch (RIE), photolithography, or similar processes required
  • SPC and data analysis experience required
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills preferred
  • Machine maintenance experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new processes required

The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $50,000 to $80,000 per year.Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
