Job Description:

Ondrovic & Platek, PLLC., a fast-growing, respected Insurance Defense firm located in White Plains, NY, is seeking to add Associates with 5 to 10 years' of trial experience to our team to support our expanding practice.

The firm has earned a reputation for effectively and efficiently litigating complex cases from inception to trial. Attorneys at Ondrovic & Platek, PLLC consistently provide high caliber representation to insurance companies and their insureds, to corporations, municipalities, and individuals throughout New York and Connecticut.

We represent clients in construction accident cases, premises liability, motor vehicle and trucking accidents, dram shop, negligent security, dog bite, products liability, professional liability, municipal liability, wrongful death, and property damage cases.

This is an exciting opportunity for associates interested in handling their own cases and who are seeking exposure to all phases of the litigation experience through depositions, court appearances, trial, and settlement.

We offer competitive compensation packages, including discretionary bonuses, and generous benefits, including paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, vision, 401k match, life and disability insurance, and free parking. Our office environment is casual and offers significant opportunities for idea-sharing and exposure to experienced attorneys. Remote working is also available as needed.

Total compensation package ranges from $145k to $200k, including base salary and discretionary bonus. Compensation is commensurate with your relevant experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Strategize on how to resolve clients cases in a favorable and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop ideal arguments and represent clients in legal proceedings.
  • Draft motions, discovery demands and responses in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle investigations, court appearances and depositions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by consistently communicating and providing accurate and timely status reports to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice in New York (Connecticut a plus).
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in general liability and coverage, including defense of New York Labor Law, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, Dram shop actions, and/or property damages cases.
  • Must have trial experience, preferably in Insurance defense.
  • Superior communication, writing, research, and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and responsive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office, and to independently manage all phases of litigation, including trials.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and uncompromised attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to consistently promote a positive work environment in a small, friendly, and collaborative office.
