Offering a genuinely healthy approach to work-life balance, this highly ranked AM Law 100 firm is looking to appoint a hybrid Litigation Attorney to focus on insurance defense work for high-net-value/specialized insurance coverage.Great role for a Litigation Attorney with 4+ years experience in insurance coverage. The role involves representation of international and domestic insurers during claim investigations and litigation concerning policy defenses of first-party insurance. Must be collaborative and able to act independently throughout the litigation process, with an interest in developing an expertise in insurance coverage work in a unique area. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives within a busy, stimulating, and fast-paced team environment.
Job Description
As Litigation Attorney - Insurance, Key Responsibilities will include:
- Taking depositions, attending court hearings and mediation.
- Drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests and interrogatories, and other legal correspondence/litigation documents.
- Varied matters including analyzing insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients.
- Working with investigators and experts.
- Actively contributing to the development and maintenance of client relationships.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Litigation Attorney - Insurance will have demonstrable experience including:
- Admitted to practice in NY (or another US state if wanting to relocate for the role).
- 3+ years relevant Litigation Attorney experience.
- First-party insurance coverage experience (e.g., marine, fine art and specie, property, specialty, contingency, special events, cyber, etc.) highly beneficial.
- Commercial litigation experience including taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and discovery.
- Federal court experience.
- Strong writing, organizational, and time management skills.
- Relevant hands-on work history.

- $175,000-$220,000 base salary (depending on experience).
