Virginia & Ambinder, LLP, a mid-size labor and employment law firm located in downtown Manhattan, seeks a litigation associate to join the firm's practice representing Taft-Hartley benefit plans in New York and New Jersey.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee cases from pre-litigation through settlement or judgment enforcement
· Draft case filings such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence to court
· Conduct discovery; take and defend depositions
· Attend court conferences and communicate with opposing counsel
· Provide legal advice and updates on cases to clients
SKILLS
· Exceptional at written and verbal communications, legal writing, and legal research
· Organized and attentive to detail
· Excellent at problem solving and multitasking
· Proficiency in Timeslips is a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· J.D.
· Licensed to practice law in New York and/or New Jersey
· 1-3 years of litigation experience
· Working familiarity with federal rules of civil procedure is a plus
· Experience taking depositions is a plus
The estimated salary range for this position is from $100,000 to $150,000 and will be commensurate with experience. The position also offers a competitive benefit package and the ability to work both at home and in the office.
