The Position
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and various other legal documents.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, fostering a cohesive and supportive team dynamic.
- Independently handle a litigation caseload, managing cases from start to finish as part of a team.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide case status updates.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- A minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience.
- Preferred experience in transportation, motor vehicle accident, and trucking cases.
- Required experience in drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
- Preferred experience in cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses.
- Court appearances, depositions, and trial experience are advantageous.
- Second-chair trial experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Pay Range
$125,000 - $190,000 USD
