Job Description:

Trustpoint.One has partnered with a state government agency in their search for Litigation Attorneys with hands-on trial and/or administrative hearings experience for a long-term (3-4+ months in duration) REMOTE project. In this role, the Litigation Attorneys will work in conjunction with the Agency s supervising Attorneys and Staff to handle cases regarding unlicensed business activities.

Duties will include:

  • Drafting briefs and appeals
  • Gather and evaluate evidence
  • Conduct pre-hearing conferences and settlement discussions
  • Handling witness preparation
  • Represent client at administrative hearings which will be mainly held via Zoom
  • Draft post-hearing briefing and final orders

The Litigation Attorneys will conduct legal work related to administrative hearings, including but not necessarily limited to preparation of written submissions, pre-hearing conferences, settlement discussions, representation of state agency at administrative hearings, post-hearing briefing, and drafting of final orders.

The qualified Litigation Attorney will have the following:

  • Hands on experience with administrative hearings and/or trial experience
  • Experience with witness preparation
  • Knowledge of state regulatory and compliance rules
  • Member of the New York Bar, in good standing
  • Must be within commutable distance to New York City if needed in the office
  • Flexibility to work full-time hours (40 per week)
  • Private, dedicated workspace with computer and strong internet access
