Job Title: Consumer Litigation Attorney (Debt Settlement Experience)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Consumer Litigation Attorney with expertise in debt settlement to support 1-2 litigation matters. This is a fully remote position, and the ideal candidate will be based in the North East or in the East Coast time zone for ease of collaboration. The role is full-time, with a commitment ranging from 6 to 18 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle consumer litigation matters with a focus on debt settlement cases.
- Provide legal advice and strategies for resolving consumer disputes.
- Manage pre-litigation, litigation, and post-litigation processes.
- Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court hearings as needed.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to ensure alignment on litigation strategies and objectives.
- Monitor and assess developments in debt settlement and consumer protection laws that may impact ongoing cases.
- Negotiate and draft settlement agreements with opposing counsel to resolve disputes efficiently.
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure all documentation is current and well-organized.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 3-5 years of litigation experience with a focus on consumer litigation and debt settlement.
- Admission to the bar in New York (or another relevant jurisdiction) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of consumer protection laws and debt settlement regulations.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duration:
This engagement is for a 6 to 18-month period.
