JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: LITURGISTDEPARTMENT: LITURGYRESPONSIBLE TO: LEADERSHIP TEAMPOSITION SUMMARY: Facilitates daily prayer and practices to embody the faith life and gospel values of the congregation; serves as a liturgy resource person for the congregation and Mount Saint Francis Center; is responsible for planning and coordinating congregational liturgies that reflect the mission, charism, and values of the Sisters of St. Francis; works in collaboration with the MSFC staff. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Is familiar with the culture of religious life as it is lived in community. Understands and responds appropriately to the limits of people who are aging.Is familiar with Catholic and Franciscan traditions of prayer and devotions with sensitivity to inclusive language.Creates a space of welcome and hospitality as an expression of the charism of the Congregation. Plans and coordinates congregational liturgies:Entrance and first and final profession ritesFuneral rituals (e.g., remembering service, committal, memorial/funeral liturgy)Jubilee rituals (e.g., Eucharist, Prayer of Hours, and other prayer services)Gathering and Chapter liturgical events (prayer services/liturgy).6. Serves as liaison with archdiocesan personnel for duties related to liturgy.7. Coordinates liturgical functions and related activities:
Leads and facilitates liturgical music for the congregationCollaborates with pastoral care, priests, and musicians in providing regularly scheduled celebrations of the anointing of the sick, reconciliation, and funeral ritesPlans and coordinates liturgies for Francis House and Clare House for- Major feast days and liturgical seasons

- Coordinates and evaluates the work of the MSFC sacristans in preparing for liturgical services and maintaining the chapel environment.
- Plans appropriate seasonal chapel decor in collaboration with the sacristans.
- Oversees the ongoing maintenance of organ and sound systems.
- Collaborates with IT for livestream services.
- Evaluates liturgical music resources, purchasing and disposal of materials, and keeps current with proper copyright procedures and laws.
- Coordinates, promotes, and provides educational experiences for all liturgical ministers serving the MSFC community;

- Meets regularly with the appropriate MSFC personnel and is in dialogue with the Leadership Team liaison regarding liturgical related activities and issues.
