Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
* Networking with faculty, students, and leading scientists
* Facilitating undergraduate research experiences
* Collaborates with faculty/staff/peers and industry leaders to build a community of practice,
* Assist in the execution of events and programming, including workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and social events.
* Curate and manage content for Impact Academy social media accounts, promoting upcoming events, sharing student achievements, and fostering a sense of community.
* Complete all administrative tasks as assigned by Director of Impact Academy.
* Collaborate with Director to update and share progress in research development.
* Active and consistent engagement in regular workshops and professional development activities during summer and academic year
* Coaches and/or mentors using a range of strategies to build confidence and competency in cohort members.
* Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
* Long Island University Undergraduate Student in STEM Disciplines
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* High energy and enthusiasm to work with faculty/staff/industry leaders/ peers and propel them toward success.
* Reliable and punctual, with a positive and proactive attitude
* Strong Interpersonal communication skills
* Computer skills
Workling Conditions:
On Campus, flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, may be required to execute the position's role
Materials & Equipment:
Computer, fax machine, copier, phone.
