What you will do: The LMHC/LCSW is responsible for initial intake assessment and triage of community-based client referrals. This position will also be responsible for overseeing PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) referrals of incarcerated individuals who have experienced sexual violence while incarcerated or throughout the lifespan and are in need of supportive counseling/therapy services.The LMHC/LCSW will additionally carry a caseload, providing services to victims/survivors of sexual, physical and domestic violence, stalking, other crimes and to secondary victims of crimes. This specifically utilizes trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to work with individuals and groups who have survived traumatic events.This role will have a specific focus on clinical assessment and needs based intervention. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the correspondence and coordination of care with lateral community providers. This role will engage in case conference with senior clinical staff for salient case assignment needs.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a therapy caseload of 15 to 20 individual client sessions weekly.
  • Provide direct supportive services to victims/survivors of crime including but not limited to crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling/therapy/groups and NYS office of Victim Services compensation assistance.
  • Complete clinical intakes for community-based client referrals.
  • Complete clinical intakes for PREA client population, and subsequent case assignment.
  • Collaborate and partner with local area community partners to provide comprehensive assessment to survivors seeking services.
  • Consultation with senior clinical team.
  • Maintain records both electronic and paper in keeping with program requirements and agency confidentiality standards and in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with training new staff, volunteers and per diems.
  • Provide referrals for needed services to victims/survivors.
What You Will Need:
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field required.
  • LMHC/LMSW preferred, however, candidates working toward licensure will be considered.
  • A valid NYS driver's license, and dependable transportation are also required.
  • New York State Certified Sexual Assault Counselor (or be willing to apply for certification with appropriate training provided by our department).
Pay Range: $30.00 - $43.08Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
