- Conducting formal and informal consultations with ACS Child Protective Specialists on their cases which include mental health and/or domestic violence concerns. The CCS consultant will assist in assessing the presence of these concerns and help determine the specific level of interventions required to strengthen the family and reduce risk to the children, providing concrete tools and casework guidance.
- Consultant will meet productivity requirements including number of formal consultations per week and writing reports for every consultation, within an acceptable time frame.
- Attending Family Team Meetings, case conferences and child safety conferences as required and approved by the team coordinator. Direct client contact is to model or demonstrate effective interventions and engagement strategies for the benefit of caseworkers or other ACS staff.
- Developing and implementing mental health or domestic violence trainings for ACS Child Protective Specialists, supervisors, and managers. Topic to be determined by the needs of the field office in collaboration with the consultant. Curriculum will be written and specific, and creative in approach to engage ACS staff in learning and transfer of knowledge.
- Attending case reviews as an important training tool, as per request of ACS deputy directors and approval of the Team Coordinator.
- Attending bi-monthly CCS citywide mental health and domestic violence consultants' meetings.
- Developing/maintaining knowledge of community-based resources for referral for mental health and/or domestic violence services.
- Occasional field visits when necessary to assist with engaging clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
- LCSW, LMSW, LMHC with at least one year of clinical experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent engagement skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to understand, respect and work in a host environment
- Word, excel, power point skills required.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
