Job DescriptionYOUR OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting Load Planner opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Load Planner is responsible for maintaining and growing accounts within specified transportation lanes. The ideal candidate will also create daily load plans that match loads with available trucks to maximize truck productivity, minimize deadheads, and increase revenue per mile which includes booking all freight, inbound and outbound. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for identifying a tailored solution for customers utilizing assets and 3PL management.
- Submit quotes to customers/3PL's and negotiate as necessary to secure the contracts/ business.
- Develop annual business plan in conjunction with Operations Manager, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
- Develop qualified leads through referrals, telephone calls, face to face cold calling on traffic managers, direct mail, email and networking.
- Create and conduct effective proposals and presentations that identify business problems and effective logistical solutions.
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow- up activities, to maximize potential.
- Schedule day-to-day movement of drivers and freight through interaction with drivers and other planners.

- 5+ years' experience in transportation operations including dispatch and customer service experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Power Pro/People Net preferred but not required.
SCHEDULE
- 7:30 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday

- Primarily an office environment until trained then can be remote.
- The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, overnight travel as requested and some Holidays.
