Longwood Gardens is seeking a part time Loading Dock Assistant to assist in the daily operations of a central loading and shipping dock, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods. This role requires proven skills in logistics with the ability to prioritize effectively. The current needs are primarily weekday afternoons (starting 1:00pm) and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and collaborating with multiple departments, external partners, and vendors, to ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with company policies and prioritize movement of goods.
• Maintaining all dock loading and shipping procedures, general housekeeping functions around the loading dock, and meeting all regulatory and safety guidelines.
• Supporting the coordination of daily dock activities, including loading and unloading trucks, arranging storage, and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Ensuring safety procedures are upheld to ensure a safe working environment, including proper lifting techniques, equipment operation, and all other safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A valid Driver's license
• Two years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, receiving or shipping operations preferred.
• The ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
• An understanding of safety and health regulations, especially as it is related to movement and transport of products.
