What You'll Be Doing

Currently seeking a Loan Assistant in our Denison office. Bi-lingual speaking ability (Spanish preferred) is a plus.

A Loan Assistant at Bank Iowa is responsible for preparing and assembling complete loan document packages for Consumer, Ag and Commercial borrowers while ensuring they meet bank, compliance and regulatory guidelines. Loan Assistants maintain comprehensive loan files in accordance with bank specifications. They also work closely with Relationship Managers to provide seamless, friendly and quality client service at all times.

  • Compiles loan applications, organizational documents, appraisals, letters, notices, etc. for Relationship Manager review and approval.
  • Prepares loan document packages using a combination of Laser Pro and bank approved templates for: Consumer, Ag and Commercial Borrowers and loans secured by title, real estate, UCC, and other various collateral types.
  • Prepares notices and letters as needed for non-originated loans and troubled credits within compliance specified timelines.
  • Orders title certificates, appraisals, flood determinations.
  • Ensures applicable documents are successfully recorded via e-recording or at local courthouse.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and comprehensive loan files in OnBase that adhere to bank loan file standards. Ensures that records are easily identifiable for lending staff and examiners.
  • Receives and processes loan payments.

A Loan Assistant in Denison is generally scheduled to work between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Skills/Experience You'll Need

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • At least one-year previous work experience in a professional office setting, preference is within a financial institution processing loans.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking ability preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have a strong customer service focus, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work collectively in a team environment across multiple business units, and ability to handle multiple tasks and work with client information in a confidential manner quickly and proficiently.
