What You'll Be DoingAs a Loan Officer Trainee with Bank Iowa, you will have the opportunity to work in several key areas of lending at Bank Iowa. Trainees will work closely with bank staff to gain knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will also be exposed to several other areas of the bank to gain an understanding of their importance to the Lending Division. This role is designed as a training position that allows the trainee to gain the necessary experience and knowledge to become a Relationship Manager at Bank Iowa.
  • Works closely with Relationship Managers to gain knowledge of the bank's lending processes, polices, and regulations.
  • Works closely with Relationship Managers to learn the credit analysis and underwriting processes, as well as attends prospective and existing client calls.
  • Participates in loan committee meetings to obtain a further understanding of loans.
  • Completes a wide variety of data input, word processing, copying, correspondence, reports, memos, etc.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
This role can be based in either Humboldt, IA or Lawler, IA and will have the opportunity to travel to other locations in the North Iowa Region to train alongside experienced lending staff. This role will spend time in the following locations: Denison, IA; Humboldt, IA; Clear Lake, IA; and Lawler, IA. As a Loan Officer Trainee, you can expect the training period to last 12-24 months. Upon promotion to Relationship Manager I, this role will work in our North Iowa Region. RequirementsSkills/Experience You'll Need
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous exposure to or coursework related to lending practices, banking operations, or credit analysis.
  • Any experience in customer service, sales, or retail banking would be beneficial for developing strong client relationships.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations across Iowa during the training period and after promotion.
