Job Title: Loan Operations Department: LoansReports To: Loan Operations Manager FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPrepared By: Loan Operations Manager Prepared Date: December 6, 2024SUMMARY: The Loan Operations serves customers and lending staff by handling transaction requests in a friendly, accurate, and efficient manner. This position supports and enhances banking relationships by servicing the existing customer base and providing expertise in loan products and services. The role requires a foundational understanding of Hogan Loans, loan input, extensions, payments/advances, GL entry, and balancing. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills and a focus on driving process efficiencies to improve operations and customer experiences.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Perform standard loan administration duties, including the following: a. Complete & file new loan input and extensions for Harlan DT and branch offices b. Monitor loan checklist and upload supporting documentation c. Manage loan notices, vehicle titles, CDs held as collateral, and paid-off loans d. Balance GL's daily e. Sort morning reports f. Prepare Loan Packets for lenders g. Serve as branch loan support h. Assist Loan Customers with payments and questions i. Answer phones & greet customers promptly and professionally2. Serve as primary support for the following functions: a. Process Overdrafts b. Order and review appraisals for in-house and certified appraisals. c. Audit and maintain loan late fees and NAICS codes in Hogan d. Input & maintain coding for rate changes and specials3. Serve as backup support for the following functions: a. Monitor and maintain loan participations b. Loan auditing4. Critical Thinking and Process Efficiencies a. Analyze workflows & identify opportunities for streamlining processes b. Apply problem-solving skills to enhance operational efficiency & reduce manual errors c. Collaborate with team members to implement improvements & share best practices5. Complete and/or attend assigned training which includes a. ABA compliance training and monthly informational sessions b. Product knowledge reviews & training as directed6. Create an atmosphere of teamwork by helping fellow staff members as necessary to promote a positive and fun work environment. This may also include participation in community events to promote the welfare of the county, develop camaraderie, and create a favorable reflection for SCSB7. Engage in business & relationship development a. Being involved in bank supported community events b. Refer loan and deposit customers to appropriate bank staff8. Participate in projects or task forces as assigned by manager.9. Understand and adhere to all Bank policy, procedures, laws and regulations applicable to this role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required. Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations to your manager or compliance officer or ethics hotline by calling 1-866-###-####. Affirm on each performance review that you will comply with regulations.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must have familiarity with loan input and financial balancing processes, strong critical thinking skills to evaluate situations and recommend improvements, demonstrate ability to identify and implement process efficiencies. They must also have excellent customer service and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or satisfactory work experience, preferred.Computer and data processing literacy required, including adept experience with Microsoft Office programs. Experience with MS Access is helpful, but not required. Bank regulation and compliance is required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate professionally and distinctly to the general public and other coworkers. Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and basic algebra. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and/or problems and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license required for travel to Bank offices, training sessions, customer meetings, Bank and community meetings, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
