Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Medical Assistant Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 11/18/2024 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract Job Description: Certified Medical Assistant Position: Certified Medical Assistant Location: Boston, MA Duration: 11/18/24 to 02/15/25 (13 Weeks) Schedule: 40 Hours/week, 8-hour Day (07:30 AM - 04:00 PM) Requirements: Must have Medical Assistant certification COVID-19 vaccination (including booster) and flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted only) Job Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant will support smooth and efficient practice operations while contributing to BIDMC's commitment to providing extraordinary care. Essential Responsibilities: Communicate courteously and helpfully with patients, employees, and the public via phone and in person. Perform administrative tasks as needed, including greeting patients, check-in, and scheduling appointments. Assist patients with physical and psychological limitations in ambulation and care functions. Conduct medical assisting duties, including: Measuring vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) Recording height and weight Performing EKGs and phlebotomy Assisting during routine medical procedures Conduct point-of-care testing, including lab tests and specimen collection, while ensuring quality control standards are met for testing equipment. Provide patients with relevant instructions for tests and procedures.
