- Nurse to patient ratios 1:1
- Patient population ALL surgical patients, all ages # beds per unit
- 14 OR's and 2 procedure rooms
- Other staff/resources on the unit orderlies, unit secretary
- Certifications required per unit none
- Case type: All types except for open heart .
Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current RN OR Surgical experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN Surgical program
- Active unencumbered Wisconsin RN state license
- One year of Cerner experience
