This position reports to Regional Sales & Service Controller BLA.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, we are looking for a highly motivated problem solver with financial expertise to identify trends and problems, communicate information to relevant groups, drive changes and process optimization, and take actions to improve the financial performance of the Measurement and Analytics local division businesses. The work model for the role is hybrid. You'll be based out of the Houston office at least once a week. This role contributes to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Analyzing the business performance versus budget and forecast and proposing improvement actions; performing benchmarking of key performance indicators with industry competitors and similar sites within ABB.
  • Assessing impact to the sales and service organization with special focus on profitability, SG&A analysis, service costing/hourly rates, and over/under-absorption analysis.
  • Validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reporting by performing reconciliations and review of exceptions.
  • Providing information to the management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Qualifications for the role
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related fields, with a minimum of five years of working experience in a manufacturing, sales, or service environment.
    • Previous work experience in the areas of business controlling, financial reporting, and business performance review and analysis.
    • Proficient ERP and Office application skills such as SAP FI/CO/SD/CS modules, MS Excel, Office, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex financial subjects to sales, operations, and upper management teams.
    • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
    • Fluent in English speaking and writing skills.
    • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
