Job Summary

The Location Manager will oversee the maintenance and operations of our warehouse facility. This position will plan, direct, coordinate, and manage the daily operation; ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations, safety, on-time delivery, and quality expectations are all being met.

General Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and ensure compliance for health, safety, and security.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations, systems, and customer billing.
  • Track and ensure performance-based requirements as determined by our customers
  • Work closely with the leadership team and account management to maintain customer satisfaction and respond to changes in business requirements.
  • Monitor and enhance performance of the companys processes and employees to proactively identify efficiency and quality issues all the while proposing and implementing solutions. Maintain a strong relationship with the engineering and quality team.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager and HR to interview, hire, onboard, train, and mentor the staff.
  • Evaluate and improve facility usage, inventory management, and vendor functions/practices.
  • Inspect and maintain facilities, equipment, and work sites to ensure they are safe, fully functioning, and high-yielding. Coordinate with the Operations Manager, maintenance, and contractors to ensure everything is repaired, fully operational, and safe for employees.
  • Monitor the completion of necessary production and quality control documentation
  • Mediate disputes to promote amicable and cooperative relationships among staff.
  • Maintain 5S in the facility to ensure everything is well organized and clean.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to share and manage personnel between the Des Moines and Marshalltown facilities as needed.
  • Implement team-building exercises to promote training and overall employee well-being.
  • Provide regular performance and planning updates to the executive leadership team.
  • Learn all systems to drive appropriate employee training, and support the three-on-the-bench initiative to ensure we have employees trained and backups for multiple positions.
  • Work with the IT team to prioritize issues that arise.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, meeting deadlines, and reporting results.
  • Own inventory accuracy and drive the team to follow all processes.
  • Interface with customers as needed.
  • Support Sales and Engineering initiatives and business growth opportunities.
  • Lead teams by example in attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.
  • Communicate, improve, implement, and monitor company provided safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance for health, safety, and security.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing lead or supervisory role.
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience and competence with MS Office Products including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
