Description We are seeking an experienced person with knowledge of underground construction utility work. Looking for a dependable individual who demonstrate a willingness to learn and work well in a team setting and on their own with a desire to work in the Highway Construction, Signing and Traffic Safety industry with regards to North Carolina 811 along with quality control of work performed by our crews.Experience is required, and preferred. All new hires undergo our safety training and flagging certification to ensure requisite safety/flagging knowledge prior to deployment on the field. We are a Nation-Wide growing company with opportunities to develop and grow in the Construction Industry.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform field layout, per-mark for dig-safe (811) and detailing existing roadway conditions. Be able to communicate with the owners of the project, make field adjustments as needed to illuminate utility conflicts. learn and train on troubleshooting various problems that can arise in the field. Perform duties listed below:
- Field work which includes frequent travel within Highpoint and Raleigh North Carolina markets.
- Responsible for locating and marking underground utility lines.
- Work with Dispatch/Project Management for determination of project locates.
- Primarily working with PM/Dispatch/Install crews at the day-to-day.
- Establish and maintain good communications with internal and external customers.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers.
- Ability to read sign install plans and communicate plans to 811.
- Regular communication with 811 field personnel to ensure locates are properly marked.
- Daily monitoring of 811 system for determining when locates have cleared.
Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ambitious and motivated individual
- Have reliable transportation
- Pass pre-employment drug and background screening and DOT physical
- Have a valid Driver's License
- Successfully pass Company Defensive Driver Course
- Willingness to learn new skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools, willingness to learn mechanical equipment
- Underground construction experience (1 year) is preferred
