A health system is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage.Top sights in Eastern North Carolina to see include the Biltmore, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and the North Carolina Zoo!The position is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with on-call duties starting at 3 PM. The schedule consists of 7 days on followed by 7 days off and is shared with one other anesthesiologist. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) take first call, with anesthesiologists available for all procedures in the operating room, but they do not handle labor epidurals or sedation outside the operating room. The role involves 10% inpatient and 90% outpatient responsibilities, managing an average of 34 patients daily, with 7-10 admissions during the day and 4 at night. On weekends, there is 24-hour call coverage shared with CRNAs. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association.
