**Job Title:** Physician - Gastroenterologist **Job Specialty:** Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology **Job Duration:** 13 months **Shift:** Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm, weekday coverage, no nights or weekends **Guaranteed Hours:** 8 hours **Experience:** Not specified **License:** Board Certification required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and foreign body removal - Esophageal dilatation/manometry - Small bowel biopsy - Lower GI endoscopy, including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy with biopsy or excision of polyp **Job Description:** - Fill a Gastro Hospitalist-type role in a supplemental capacity alongside existing staff. - Work alongside a staff provider who alternates months, covering when they are off. - Minimal procedures required unless willing to perform outpatient procedures. - Patient encounters average five per shift. - Work in a facility with a trauma level of 2 and a PEDs level of 0. - Participate in diagnostics along with required specialty skills. - Possibility of being considered for a permanent position based on performance. - Expected to be skilled in fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser) and esophageal manometry interpretation. - No lodging preapproval is needed.
