**Job Title:** General Surgeon**Job Specialty:** Surgery - General**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 24-hour shifts**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** Completion of a General Surgery Residency with case log from the previous 12 months of at least 100 surgical procedures**License:** Nebraska License or IMLC (Letter of Qualification in hand)**Certifications:** Board Certified/Board Eligible, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)**Must-Have:** - Clean Background/Malpractice record- Availability during the specified time frame**Job Description:**- Cover acute care surgery and trauma surgery- Perform basic general surgical procedures and manage trauma cases- Responsible for daily rounds on all patients admitted to the general surgery or trauma service- Handle any consult received during the assignment- Provide 24/7 trauma and acute surgery call at a level 3 trauma center- Utilize electronic medical records system (Epic) effectively- Operate within an inpatient acute care hospital setting with support from hospital staff- Fill a coverage gap due to changes in current hospital surgical group arrangements
