**Job Title:** Psychiatrist**Job Specialty:** Staff Augmentation**Job Duration:** 26 Weeks**Shift:** Day, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday, 1/2 unpaid lunch break)**Guaranteed Hours:** Not Specified**Experience:** 5 or more years of medical practice limited to psychiatry**License:** Certificate to practice medicine per Section 4731.13 of Revised Code**Certifications:** Satisfactory completion of residency training program in psychiatry, approved by the residency review committee of the American Medical Association, the committee on postgraduate education of the American Osteopathic Association, or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry**Must-Have:** Biannual renewal of license with requirement of 100 hours of continuing education**Job Description:**- Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose, and treat consumers, prescribe medication, and perform in-depth psychotherapy and counseling (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavior modification). - Monitor and coordinate professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care. - Review consumer records for accuracy and completeness and recommend improvements in hospital staffing and organization. - Conduct and participate in lectures and seminars in psychiatry or related fields for professional and paraprofessional healthcare staff.- Maintain knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology.- Administer medication with skill.- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.- Interpret an extensive variety of technical material in books, journals, and manuals.- Deal with many variables and determine specific courses of action.- Handle sensitive contacts with persons under medical care.**Unusual Working Conditions:**- Exposure to dangerous patients and infectious diseases. - May require travel to community sites under contract with the Department of Mental Health.
