Job Description:
**Job Title:** Locum Medical Physicist**Job Specialty:** Oncology**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** Day shift, one day per week (Wednesday) and possibly some PRN coverage**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** Not specified**License:** Must be or become registered as a Radiation Therapy Physicist**Certifications:** Board Certified (Highly Preferred), can accept Board Eligible **Must-Have:** - Board Certified or Board Eligible with the intent to obtain certification- Required license information or equivalent**Job Description:**- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care.- Conduct teaching in accordance with standards set by regulatory agencies and the medical community.- Participate in treatment procedures including SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, gating, SGRT, and 3D Conformal treatment plans.- Use two linear accelerators; TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam for treatments.- Record and verify treatments using designated software; planning with Eclipse and Tomoplan.- Engage in patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, and plan checks.- Provide support to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists.- Work collaboratively with a team that includes physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, RNs, office staff, and social workers.- Coordinate with radiation oncologists and the medical oncology team.- Perform calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources.- Implement new technologies as needed.- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work well within a team environment. **Note:** Call rotation of 1:2 unless it is for vacation coverage, where you would be the only physicist on call.
