SummaryGreat Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Log Scaler Operator. This position will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package. Essential Duties:
- Weighs incoming and outgoing shipments for the sawmill
- Enters data into the computer system
- Scan and review logs for measurements
- Responsible for placing identifying information on the material upon arrival at the plant site.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
