Location: Cottageville,SC, USA
Weyerhaeuser's log yard facility in Cottageville, South Carolina has an opening for an Equipment Operator. This position will serve as a member of the flow-to-work log yard team, operating various pieces of log handling equipment, participating in various log yard activities, and contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
This is a full-time hourly day shift position reporting to the Yard Supervisor. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k plans, vacation, and holidays.
Key Functions:
* Safely and competently operate all the equipment associated with a log yard; knuckle boom, front end loader, yard truck, ag tractors, etc.
* Perform basic equipment and facility maintenance
* Recognize log sorts and place them in the appropriate inventory storage
* Collaborate with team members, as well as work independently
* Contribute positively within a highly efficient and safe work team
* Adapt to job assignment changes and flow to work as needed
* Perform overtime duties when needed to meet customer demands
* High school diploma or equivalent
* One to two years' experience operating log handling equipment
* Valid driver's license
* Demonstrated adherence to safety practices
* Solid work history, including work in an industrial environment
* Strong communication and listening skills
* Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen
Preferred:
* Experience and knowledge of log sorts, putting logs in and out of storage decks, unloading and loading log trucks, driving semi-trucks
